At Jilbup Primary School, we are proud to offer a Specialised Learning Program for Autism (SLP-A) that is underpinned by high expectations, inclusion and evidence-based practice. Our program is staffed by a dedicated team of skilled and passionate educators who have been carefully selected for their expertise, professionalism, commitment to teaching and genuine belief in every child's potential.
Our practice is grounded in the Science of Learning, the Science of Behaviour and explicit, evidence-based teaching approaches. Through a combination of high-quality instruction, social communication support and targeted intervention, we support students to develop the skills and confidence needed to thrive as successful learners.
The SLP-A is embedded within Jilbup Primary School's whole-school approach to teaching and learning. Students benefit from our strong Tier 1 supports, consistent behaviour expectations, explicit teaching practices and social-emotional curriculum, ensuring they are included as valued members of our school community. Our inclusive philosophy provides students with meaningful opportunities to learn, socialise and participate alongside their peers while receiving the additional support they require.
The SLP-A is designed as a specialised intervention program that supports students to develop the social communication, self-regulation and learning skills necessary for successful participation in mainstream education. Through individualised goal setting, targeted teaching and collaborative partnerships with families, we work to build student independence and prepare students for ongoing success within inclusive learning environments.

Its purpose is to provide parents and carers with information on supports and services available before and after their child’s diagnosis of autism.
